Ah yes, the gaming drought of summer. Why is this still an issue? I mean it’s not been an issue every summer, but why is it EVER an issue? If a good game comes out in the summer, we will buy it. It’s that simple.

This is true but there is really never a gaming drought in the PC world. Just consoles.
I find Summer the time to catch up on games……. until the Skyrim DLC gets released on Steam anyway.
I did play a little MW3 last night…I did less than stellar.
Sadly, even if he did get the game, he doesn’t have an Xbox 360 to play on.

In all my years of gaming and those scant few years in game retail, I never understood the summer gaming drought. Kids are out of school and desperate for something to do while it’s 100 degrees outside. Then you have parents who are tired of their kids bitching and want to buy their silence.
No one wins.
At least, on the ass end of things, we usually get good stuff starting in August. Darksiders 2 and Last Story, bro. Then when September starts we’re all fucked until February.
By fucked, I mean our wallets are all empty and we have no time to play all of the amazing games we’ve just been presented with.
Why can’t game companies be like movie companies and stagger their releases?
